PAINTING WITH LIGHT
A fleeting spark of light, captured in the dark and frozen into an eternal moment.
Inspired by the art of light painting, ANEST COLLECTIVE’s FW21 campaign is shot by Elizaveta Porodina, the Russian photographer whose background in psychology injects a mood of dramatic mystery yet poetic sensitivity into every image.
In Greek, photography means ‘drawing of light’. Elizaveta, turning, spinning, captures the free-flowing movement of light, drawing digital curves onto the human body. Light becomes a tool to which the tortuous geometric lines of the clothing are accentuated. Through the trajectory of these phantom-like lines and a rendering effect like watercolor, the imagery created is reminiscent of oil painting.
The reshaping of the human body through ANEST COLLECTIVE's powerful silhouette works in perfect synergy with Elizaveta’s theme – Transmutation and Rebirth. Working together since the beginning of time, metamorphosis dances between the light and the dark, leaving an indelible mark through time and space.
