Cabinet of Curiosities - NATURA - MATERIA
Nature, Memory, Time, Equilibrium, Precious.
These are the themes of five cabinets, and also five answers to the same question:
What’s precious to you?
During the recently concluded Milan Design Week, ANEST COLLECTIVE
collaborated with Francesca Minini Gallery and Massimo Minini Gallery
to host the exhibition titled "Cabinet of Curiosities - NATURA – MATERIA,"
showcasing a unique collection focused on nature and materials.
For this exhibition, renowned architect and curator Marco Parmeggiani
was invited to curate the showcase, continuing his dedication to craftsmanship
and aesthetic pursuits. He carefully selected fashion pieces from
ANEST COLLECTIVE's 2024 Autumn/Winter collection, while also
bringing together masterpieces created by artisans and designers from around the world.
Together, they constructed a wondrous cabinet of curiosities that
captures the essence of art that is both contemporary and timeless.
Each cabinet of curiosities serves as a vessel that integrates fashion, art, and design.
Through them, we gain a glimpse into the luxurious and meaningful world of treasures.
Cabinet N1 – Natural
The "Nature"-themed cabinet of curiosities presents the "ANNI DRESS,"
a wraparound dress from ANEST's FW24 collection,
alongside the artistic work "BRUTAL VIKTORIA" by Ambra Castagnetti
and the artistic furniture piece "CHAIR FOR ZABRO" designed by Andrea Branzi.
Through the invocation of the "nature" motif,
they convey the sincerity and purity of art.
Cabinet N2 – Memory
The "Memory"-themed cabinet of curiosities features the "MADDALENA"
wool and mohair skirt-style coat from ANEST's FW24 collection,
alongside the artistic work "SOFT STONE" by Sheila Hicks, "BUZZ BUZZ,"
and the artistic furniture piece "SCRIVANIA" designed by Gio Ponti.
Together, they showcase tangible details about "memory"
through these cherished objects.
Cabinet N3 – Time
The "Time"-themed cabinet of curiosities showcases
the "CLAUDE" soft knit top paired with detachable gloves
from ANEST's FW24 collection,
alongside the artistic work "BEND" by Matthias Bitzer,
and the artistic furniture piece "CHAIR 292 HILL HOUSE"
designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
The unique combination of structures and
shapes presents the indelible mark left by "time."
Cabinet N4 – Equilibrium
The "Balance"-themed cabinet of curiosities highlights
ANEST's FW24 collection pieces,
including the sculptural hand-pleated cloak dress "MAYA"
and the printed shirt "RICCI" paired with a silk skirt.
Alongside these are the artistic work "TRANSITS1" by Elena Damiani
and the artistic furniture designs NRS1 & NRS2 by Ranya Sarakbi & Niko Koronis.
Together, they emphasize the power of "balance" through lines and symmetry.
Cabinet N5 – Precious
The "Preciousness"-themed cabinet of curiosities displays
ANEST's FW24 collection piece, the "PEARL" hand-embroidered dress,
alongside the artistic works "TWO OF US-NO.2 & NO.3"
and "THE YEAR OF THE MEMORY" by Jinya Zhao, as well as Carlo Scarpa's
artistic creation "COLONNA CON LABORATORIO ZANON".
Through the contrast and interplay of different textures,
they weave together the alluring essence of "preciousness".
