- The design combines the fluid movement of Plissé with the subtle three-dimensional texture of Matelassé. The Plissé structure gives the silk delicate rhythm and movement, while the Matelassé treatment on the upper layer creates a softly raised surface, adding depth, tactility, and a quiet sense
of volume.
- The upper silk layer carries a refined matte texture, while the under layer reveals the natural luminosity of silk. When worn together, the two finishes create a subtle contrast between matte and sheen, bringing depth and movement to the silhouette.
- The hand-painted motif is created by artisans at Linea Studio, a specialist atelier near Lake Como. Before painting begins, the floral composition is carefully mapped onto the silk to ensure harmony with the garment’s silhouette, proportions, and pleated structure. The motif is then painted entirely by hand using fine silk pigments, built up in successive layers. Each layer is left to air dry before the next is applied, allowing the colours to retain clarity, precision, and tonal depth.
- After the painting process is complete, the fabric undergoes steam fixation, permanently bonding the pigments to the silk fibres while preserving the softness, luminosity, and fluidity of the material.
